Hey bloggers!! As I mentioned numerous times on my blog before I am in the MAD Academy, but for you new comers I’ll give a brief explanation! The MAD Academy is a multimedia arts design academy. This year as a junior, I will be focusing on photography. My passion! My first project in my photo class is based on “inspiration.” Meaning we have to photograph photos based on our favorite photographer and their genre. My favorite photographer is Chris Burkard. Throughout the years I have expanded my love and knowledge for photography. About over a year ago I came across the photographer Chris Burkard. Chris is an American self-taught photographer who shoots landscape, lifestyle, surf, outdoor, and travel. His work is a photojournalistic approach. Burkard’s career started off as a freelance photographer on both editorial and commercial projects. At the age of 21 he served as the senior staff photographer for Surfline, a surf forecasting site. Chris is 27 years old now and still expanding his portfolio and bringing smiles to many faces.
The images below our my own “Chris Burkard” photos with my best friend Anna modeling for me. Hope you enjoy! Comment below for your favorite type of photography and I would love to try and photograph them for you!
Sup bloggers! After a long weekend I’m back and ready to blog. This past weekend was Memorial weekend as we all know. Thank you to all of you for risking your lives to make this country a better country. We all love and miss you dearly.
This past weekend was beautiful here in Santa Barbara and of course I took advantage of that and went to the beach every single day I could. On Saturday my good friend Mali and I headed down to our little spot. (Hope Ranch Beach) HR is a very exclusive beach and you need a gate key in order to go in. The reason I love this beach so much is that it is so clean and not crowded at all! You have the whole beach and water to yourself which is amazing! No silly tourists! I thought that I would bring out my fish board to have a little fun in the water. Why not right?! It was a great little day of waves and fun to mess around on board and get a great exercise while having fun.
Comment below and tell me what you did this Memorial weekend!
Morning bloggers! Hope everyone had a fun and relaxing weekend! This past Friday the academy I am apart of had a beach clean up to earn community service hours and to give back to the community and do a good deed. After school we were supposed to all head down the a local beach, Leadbetter. From there we met up with the whole academy and they assigned clean up teams and we went to work. My team was quite the team and we picked up 4 pounds worth of trash. Pretty good since we were only cleaning up for 30 minutes. The trash consisted of many cigarette buds and Styrofoam Now after spending an afternoon giving back to the community I realized that once in a while we should take time away from our busy schedules and help out the community and the Earth we live on 😉 Nothing worse then to live on a dirty planet. I highly recommend for you to get a group of your friends and go down to your city hall and and schedule a community clean up and help out. I promise you it will make a difference. Even if its for only 15 mins.
Sup bloggers. This week I’ve been staying up till 1 am every night to study for all my tests and completing my website that I mentioned in yesterdays post. Sadly the school year is coming to an end and all the seniors will be off all around the country and some even the world. But on the bright side next year I will be a junior (aka upper class men) and summer is here! So there is always a bright side to situations. Earlier today I rode my bike down to the local beach near my house called Hendry’s but as some surfers call it the “pit.” I have been dying to go in the ocean and to just have it be summer already. As the sun was going down I had a nice little 2 hour body surfing sesh at the Pit by myself and it was beautiful. The water is finally warm enough to not wear a wet suit! Sadly that was a little tease for summer 😦 So! If you live by the beach jump in the ocean. I promise its not a disappointment!
Morning bloggers! Hope your weekend was filled with new memories and great times. Mine was 😉 This past Sunday my friend Anna surprised me at my house with her rack shack and told me we were going on a beach walk. At first I was a little confused on the idea since it was freezing and super windy down at the beach, but hey good way to exercise and to get out of the house. We both decided to head down to Montecito to Butterfly Beach. The beach was gorgeous with the wind hitting the water creating choppy waves, and big grey clouds surrounding the sky. It was a beautiful sight. We walked up and down the beach and found a little tiny cave that we decided would be a great place to take a picture. The minute I saw this picture it reminded me of one of my favorite songs, Seaside by The Kooks. I love the mellow and beautiful vibe the song has and it always puts me in a relaxing mood. The Kooks have some amazing songs and I highly recommend for you to check out their music if you haven’t already! Never a disappointment. Have a great rest of your Monday!
Whats up bloggers. This past week a friend of mine showed me a new secret spot on the Mesa in Santa Barbara that you can check out the beautiful ocean view or the surf for the surf spot “Mesa Lane.” I love to explore new little spots in Santa Barbara and was excited to see that this one was just right down the street from me! This past weekend my good friend Anna and I went down to the pier and the Skate Park to create a skate montage video on my go pro. We both love to long board and wanted to make an artsy video of us. After an hour of capturing footage of us two, we headed over to the skate park to get a little more footage for the video, so its not just us. When we skated over we saw our friends Penn, Dane, and Pat all skating and decided to record them. Below is the video montage that we made. Hope you enjoy!!
