Hey bloggers!! As I mentioned numerous times on my blog before I am in the MAD Academy, but for you new comers I’ll give a brief explanation! The MAD Academy is a multimedia arts design academy. This year as a junior, I will be focusing on photography. My passion! My first project in my photo class is based on “inspiration.” Meaning we have to photograph photos based on our favorite photographer and their genre. My favorite photographer is Chris Burkard. Throughout the years I have expanded my love and knowledge for photography. About over a year ago I came across the photographer Chris Burkard. Chris is an American self-taught photographer who shoots landscape, lifestyle, surf, outdoor, and travel. His work is a photojournalistic approach. Burkard’s career started off as a freelance photographer on both editorial and commercial projects. At the age of 21 he served as the senior staff photographer for Surfline, a surf forecasting site. Chris is 27 years old now and still expanding his portfolio and bringing smiles to many faces.

The images below our my own “Chris Burkard” photos with my best friend Anna modeling for me. Hope you enjoy! Comment below for your favorite type of photography and I would love to try and photograph them for you!

This past Friday was the MAD graduation. If you are a new follower to my blog I am apart of an academy called MAD which is short for “Multimedia Arts Design Academy.” With only 4 days left of school MAD decided to do the senior graduation Friday night starting at 5 pm. I attended the ceremony with my friends Julia and Sam and sadly we were about 25 minutes late so we missed about half of the senior videos. From the videos I saw it was a beautiful and perfect way to end their 3 year experience here in MAD and to say thank you to all of their teachers and mentors that have helped them out along the way. After the graduation we had a showcase for the Sophomore, Junior, and Senior class projecting our works and projects in all different rooms around MAD to show our parents what we have been doing this whole entire year. It was so interesting to walk around and explore all the different works from the students and see their photography, adobe, and editing skills projected. As the school year has gone by I have realized that I am very lucky to be apart of a wonderful academy and thankful for all the amazing people I have met along the way. Cheers to two more years in MAD and congratulations to all the Seniors who graduated from MAD on Friday and who will be graduating from Santa Barbara High School this Thursday night. Good luck out their in the real world and thank you for being great mentors to us lower clansmen.

Good evening bloggers. This past couple of weeks have been a huge success for my parents and their business and tonight we decided to finally celebrate! My step father and mum have created a meal replacement drink after my inspirational little sister Kate Madison. I will give you a little inside of her story right now so you understand 🙂

My sister Kate was born 6 years ago and was diagnosed with cerebral palsy. Through the past 6 years she has been a fighter and an inspiration to our family. Sadly since she has cerebral palsy and cannot eat on her own and can’t get all her nutrients she needs. The hospital subscribed her to Ensure which is meal replacement drink but is full of sugars and many things that are not healthy for you. By drinking this my sister lost all of her teeth due to rotting and did not get any healthier then before she started drinking it. Due to this incident my parents teamed up with one of their dear friends who is the founder and creator of ProBar and started to brain storm ideas of how my sister can get all of her proteins she needed.  Finally they came up with a drink with 21 super foods. They started feeding this to my little sister and she was growing healthy and strong instantly. My parents also started drinking the creation and became 10x healthier and more energized plus my mum looks 5 years younger 😉  My step dad, Richard took this idea and started creating a business with it. My stepdad is known for being a huge dreamer and loves to dream big, but he always takes his ideas and makes something with them. Something I love dearly about him! He named the company “Kate Farms” after my little sister and the drink is named “Komplete.” This was 3 years ago and now today they are blowing up and are in stores across the country. Recently they have signed with Vitamin Shoppe and Patagonia. I couldn’t be more proud and happy for my parents. Thanks to my little sister my parents are going out to the world and changing lives for everyone. Kate Farms is not only for children with cerebral palsy, but is for any and everyone! It’s extremely healthy for you and makes you feel 10 years younger! You feel like you can accomplish anything on it. Komplete comes in 3 delicious flavors, Vanilla, Java, and Chocolate. Click here to order Komplete or check out more about Kate Farms!

Cheers to you mum and Rich for making a difference and showing anyone that a dream can really come true. Love you both so much!

Sup bloggers! After a long weekend I’m back and ready to blog. This past weekend was Memorial weekend as we all know. Thank you to all of you for risking your lives to make this country a better country. We all love and miss you dearly.

This past weekend was beautiful here in Santa Barbara and of course I took advantage of that and went to the beach every single day I could. On Saturday my good friend Mali and I headed down to our little spot. (Hope Ranch Beach) HR is a very exclusive beach and you need a gate key in order to go in. The reason I love this beach so much is that it is so clean and not crowded at all! You have the whole beach and water to yourself which is amazing! No silly tourists! I thought that I would bring out my fish board to have a little fun in the water. Why not right?! It was a great little day of waves and fun to mess around on board and get a great exercise while having fun.

Comment below and tell me what you did this Memorial weekend!

We Trashy

Morning bloggers! Hope everyone had a fun and relaxing weekend! This past Friday the academy I am apart of had a beach clean up to earn community service hours and to give back to the community and do a good deed. After school we were supposed to all head down the a local beach, Leadbetter. From there we met up with the whole academy and they assigned clean up teams and we went to work. My team was quite the team and we picked up 4 pounds worth of trash. Pretty good since we were only cleaning up for 30 minutes. The trash consisted of many cigarette buds and Styrofoam  Now after spending an afternoon giving back to the community I realized that once in a while we should take time away from our busy schedules and help out the community and the Earth we live on 😉 Nothing worse then to live on a dirty planet. I highly recommend for you to get a group of your friends and go down to your city hall and and schedule a community clean up and help out. I promise you it will make a difference. Even if its for only 15 mins.
